Brief Biographical Information

  • Third generation Arizonan with strong ties to north Phoenix
    • Sunnyslope High School graduate
    • Attended and graduated from all three Arizona universities
    • District 3 resident for a total of more than 25 years   
  • Long-time family connections to the Maricopa District
    • Pam’s mother graduated from Phoenix College in 1935
    • Pam’s uncle, Robert Jaap, served on the original 1962 Maricopa Community College District Governing Board and was the
      Governing Board’s first president.
  • Pam and her family have a strong educational background, and she is very familiar with the education issues facing all of us today.
    • Her mother was an elementary school teacher in North Phoenix.
    • Both of her adult children teach in Arizona high schools
    • Pam has over 30 years high school and college teaching and educational leadership experience
